Web Browser
A web browser can be defined as a program that translates the coding language of the internet into graphic form. It displays the resulting translation instead of the actual coding. This enables anyone to browse the internet with a simple point and click navigation system. A browser adds ease to web surfing as commands used in programming languages can be bypassed. The internet is primarily written in HTML (Hypertext Markup Language). When not viewed by a web browser, HTML looks nothing like the graphical translation. It’s true state may be viewed by clicking “View Source” in Microsoft Internet Explorer, or “View Page Source” in FireFox. These options will display the original coding which is unreadable to most individuals who lack programming knowledge. Mosaic was the first graphical web browser to achieve success. Written in 1992 and officially released in 1993, it was offered in the early days of the internet by AOL, Prodigy and Compuserv.
