Terms that start with T

A Trojan program that mocks the user of an infected PC with a repeating audio message. This occurs when a user thinks they have deleted the infection.
Talking Trojan
The standard protocol for internet communication. It is also used in private networks.
TCP/IP
A communication protocol used for networks such as the internet. It enables a computer to connect to a network server.
Telnet
The process of configuring a computer terminal to look like another. It is usually done so that an older terminal can access applications designed for another terminal.
Terminal Emulation
The analysis of a threat. Perceived incident may be a virus or other security breaches.
Threat Assessment
A protocol that ensures privacy amongst users communicating on the web. TLS is an extended version of SSL (Secure Sockets Layer).
TLS, Transport Layer Security
A network where computers are schematically arranged. It functions by circling messages through the network.
Token Ring
A technology used for adapting computer program displays and internet content. This enables content to be viewed on a number of different devices.
Transcoding
An infection often disguised as something else. This software works by downloading other malicious applications onto an operating system
