Macro

In computing terms, macro is a system or pattern specifying how a set of characters should be aligned for an output sequence as specified by a particular procedure. The process that transforms it into a specific output sequence is called macro expansion. The original concept was put in place a sequence of simple instructions into one statement, overall making the task of programming less challenging and with fewer errors. As it relates to a keyboard, macro allows short sequences of strokes to be processed into other sequences. This method allows more frequently used sequences to become automated. Stand alone programs that enhance this action are known as macro recorders. Some programs contain built in features to create keyboard and mouse macro. They are often easily created by running a single sequence and then recording the actions. An underlying macro scripting language may have direct access to the features as well.
