ICSA
The purpose of the ICSA (International Computer Security Association) is to improve the security implementations of computer networks. It does this with the certification and recommendation of quality security programs, services, protocol and strategies. Their certification program promotes confidence in the world of computing with more advanced security measures. It also improves the ease of use for individuals and corporations with training tips and tools common in today’s security technology. The ICSA does not claim perfection or promise to eliminate all security threats. Their goal is to achieve significant risk reduction in products, services, and other solutions that have been labeled as certified. The criteria and techniques used are globally applicable and suitable for a variety of vendors looking to have their products certified. The ICSA sponsors a consortium for Anti-virus software and services. Together, these members have developed a standard for anti-virus products. By conducting tests of the latest program scanners, they are able to detail the capability of threat detection and the overall efficiency of specific security tools.
