G-TubeG-Tube G-Tube was created to help combat the never ending epidemic of spam. It typically comes included as a feature of software, such as Spam Assassin. The process works by sending a message containing the G-Tube sample string to a user’s inbox. If the spam filter or blocker supports the function, it will allow the procedure to go through, helping a user determine if their spam application is installed correctly and playing its role in detecting incoming spam.
Original messages that are not completely in plain text may not be safe to open with some mail servers. Depending on the file extension or actual content, the message may actually contain a virus or other malicious items. It can also manipulate the account and confirm it to receive spam.
The G-Tube signature is harmless message. It works similar to how the EICAR checks for the latest virus trends. Depending on how a user’s spam filter is configured, G-Tube samples may never even reach their inbox. |
