EULA

EULA
Usually, the EULA will restrict ways a program can be used. This may include redistribution or methods of reverse engineering. In regard to the GPL, it can give an owner specific rights to a program. EULA was once a traditional contract scripted on paper and packed with a program. Since programs are distributed more frequently on the internet, composition of physical contracts has become obsolete. This has made way for contracts in digital form that are added to the installation process. While the rules of such a contract are debatable amongst individual home owners, it ultimately provides legal protection to retail distributors, keeping the program from being reverse engineered by third-party companies. The EULA purpose has changed over the years. EULA’s most common use is to prevent an owner from defacing a program or criticizing it in the public light. This makes the comparison against competitive applications illegal. Violation of these regulations could possibly result in hefty fines and even imprisonment.
