DSR, Dynamic Source Routing
A dynamic source routing protocol is unique in how it has the ability to configure and manage itself without the oversight of a human administrator. For a successful transmission, it requires that each source determine the route that will be used in order to forward it’s packets to a specific destination. Dynamic source routing contains two primary components: Route Discovery and Route Maintenance. Route Discovery specifies the optimum route of transmission between a particular source and it’s destination while Routine Maintenance makes sure that the path for transmission stays optimum and free of loops as network conditions endure changes. LQSR (Link Quality Source Routing) is a variation of dynamic source routing developed by Microsoft. It was specifically designed for use with the company’s MCL (Mesh Connectivity Layer) technology which facilitates the interaction of computers with a wireless mesh network with the aid of services such as WiMAX or WiFi.
