Dr
Also known as a Trojan Dropper, this program can be very dangerous. As the name implies, it drops other programs, generally Trojans, into a user’s operating system. They often go undetected by various Firewall and security applications. A Dropper usually comes in the form of a standalone program. It is capable of dropping many other standalone programs into a system including Trojans, worms, and backdoors. The average Trojan Dropper comes with other malicious programs built inside of it. When it has been ran, all of the other programs are extracted and all run simultaneously. In most cases, they consist of innocent HTML or multimedia files to mask threatening intent. Some Droppers unloaded programs directly to a user’s system memory and initiates them from there. If malware is dropped, it is likely to go undetected for some time. This enables the Trojan to unload as many programs as it desires and cause considerable damage.
