Also known as a Trojan Downloader, these programs are very unique in capability. A Downloader will hide out and distribute its programs from various internet sites and FTP clients. Upon reaching the internet, a Trojan Downloader instantly seeks out places to run and download files. It usually downloads many different Trojans and backdoors, initiating them on the infected computer without approval. A Trojan Downloader hides out on legitimate websites, making it very dangerous. Often it claims Windows users as victims, downloading a ton of hazardous malware and spyware onto an ailing computer. This type of program is so advanced that it downloads files capable of logging current events, allowing other Trojans to strike with more genuine attacks. Labeled a high threat, a Downloader can be rather detrimental to the vulnerable computer. The machine can be easily exploited without any direct interaction. It has the ability to download Trojans in an instant and open several of a user’s communication ports.
