Desktop Computer

Desktop computers come in a variety of styles, from the early horizontal based models to the more commonly used vertical towers. The majority of desktop towers are designed to display content on an LCD monitor. Standard components also include a mouse and keyboard - all external devices must be attached to the machine. Aside from being less portable, desktop computers do have a few advantages over a laptop. Since it has been in existence much longer, many of its components have become standard. This makes the parts more available and affordable to the public. The process of upgrading a desktop computer is also much easier than with a laptop. This may include simple improvements made by a user. Another advantage a desktop computer has over a laptop is lower power consumption. The state of power is not as crucial because it is not forced to rely on a rechargeable battery, enabling heat to flow much faster from the unit.
