Blacklist

Blacklist
A blacklist is a control mechanism can be configured to allow access to anyone but those that have been categorized as a nuisance. Many organizations and individuals keep them to stay clear of faulty programs or web sites. Titles that fall into this category would be banned, while others are allowed usual entrance. Once the problem is reported to an email server or internet service provider, reports are gathered and placed accordingly into the blacklist category. However, innocent emails are often bounced back to the user. A spammer sending emails from someone else’s account can also cause the original user to be banned access from a particular location. If wrongfully accused, a user can attempt to contact administrative figures of the location they wish to communicate with. Clearly explaining the situation can possibly lift blacklist restrictions and ultimately place the user on that organization’s whitelist.
