BeamingBeaming This method of communication is rather unique. The light beaming uses is invisible to the human eye, quite similar to what is used in a garage door opener or TV remote control. The transmission is typically used to send content between electrical units such as a digital audio player or laptop computer.
Beaming has the ability to establish an entire network using this advanced system of communication. Since beaming requires a clear path of sight, environments containing physical obstructions such as a thick wall are not practical for use.
This form of communication requires the aid of a transceiver, the blend of a transmitter and receiver. Specially designed microchips in the transceiver are what allow both units to effectively communicate. One or both units may also require special software in order to function.
The growing popularity of wireless electronics has made beaming a very useful function. Information can be sent between mobile phones, digital cameras, pagers and other capable units. |
