BackdoorBackdoor Backdoor is known as one of the most disastrous Trojans today. It appears to be very attractive upon first glance, typically as a gift offer or interesting content. This type of Trojan is often packaged into online video games or multimedia programs. When a site is visited or a program is used, the Trojan proceeds to install its infection. Once installed, the backdoor duplicates itself into the system directory. This creates an easy entrance for the intruder who planted the original program, allowing them access to the operating system. From there, they can gain complete authority of the unit, whether accessing emails, passwords, bank account information, or even key strokes. As this activity takes place, the original user is typically left in the dark. The only way to discover this Trojan is by evaluating activity on the hard drive or using quality anti-virus software. Even then, these backdoor Trojans are difficult to remove, as they are often disguised as virus removing utilities. |
