Administrator
This account gives a user the ultimate control over an operating system – admin includes several different levels of control and programs. A user can login into this account and access any file or install any hardware device or application. The primary account owner can also grant authority to other users. The sensitivity of these accounts has made them an attractive target for hackers. All machines running the Windows operating system have a similar Security Identifier or SID. An SID is a password or combination of alphabets and numbers used by the operating system to allow access to its resources. Seasoned hackers use tools to enumerate the combination and successfully take control of user’s system. Carefully managing this account is vital to a user’s operating system. Since many privileges can be set here, it is important to implement sound security measures in order to protect the account from being exposed and compromised by hackers.
